Hey There
For me, yoga has made its way into all parts of my life by helping me create stronger bonds with loved ones, community, and the beautiful world around me. When I'm off my mat I enjoy playing outside, reading, painting, and practicing my ability to be present with the world around me. I believe the prarctice of presence through yoga has given me a new outlook on life and my part on this earth.
All About Me
I trained through The Yoga Space completing my 200-hour Yoga Alliance Certified Education Program (YACEP) course concentrating on Hatha Yoga, anatomy, philosophy, and hands-on assists. Upon getting my 200 HR certification I began teaching Sunrise Flow at Portland Rock Gym. Early morning classes can be tricky to fill but I learned a lot about creating a consistent community with the group of regulars that I’ve built over the 18 months I’ve spent working there.
Shortly after completing my 200 HR I decided to continue on to complete my YACP 500-hour teacher training through The Yoga Space. During this program I studied under Michele Loew and Ian LaMasters learning about Hatha, Ashtanga, and Vinyasa yoga with a focus on pranayama, anatomy, hands-on assists and alignment. I finished this course by attending a two week long Ashtanga Immersion retreat in Costa Rica with my teacher, Michele. After my 500 HR RYT I continued on to complete my Yoga For Kids Teacher Training Course YACEP through Yoga Playgrounds.
Finding a way to connect my two loves of teaching yoga and early childhood education inspired me to jump into teaching yoga full time. I began working for Yoga Playgrounds teaching at 16 different early childhood education centers and elementary schools around the Portland area. After 18 months of traveling to teach kids yoga I decided to find my home at Vajra Oasis where I continue to teach kids classes twice a month.
